52-Week Photo Challenge: Week 14 | Landscape: Zoomed
“WEEK 14: Landscape: Zoomed: Most landscapes are wide sweeping images. Try an alternative and zoom in instead.”
I can’t believe we are on 52-Week Photo Challenge: Week 14 already! Time really goes by very fast! Anyway, since Y’all know I only have two lenses at the moment; the Canon 50mm 1.4 and the Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art. So even though my 50mm isn’t exactly a tight lens, is the tighter one I own. And also, is pretty obvious that they are both prime lenses. I don’t own any zoom lens.
So logically, for this week’s challenge “zoomed” image, I had to use my tighter lens. So I used my nifty fifty to shoot this landscape in Alicante. There’s a castle on top of the mountain as you can see, called Santa Barbara Castle. And the mountain itself is called Mount Benacantil.
Since I couldn’t zoom in my lens, I had to zoom in my legs and walk the nearest I could get to fill my frame. We are talking desert heat in the middle of the summer. We reached the top drenched in sweat. But you don’t need to know that, lol.
I really love this image, and how everything is perfectly exposed. A little pun against the people who said that the 6D Mark II doesn’t have good dynamic range. Well, clearly this photo disagrees.
PS. As you can see, this photo was accepted by PhotoVogue ♥ It’s actually my first photo accepted by them.
