“WEEK 3: Artistic; Red: This week shoot whatever inspires you. Red should be the focus of the image. So don’t be afraid to be creative..”
For this week’s challenge, I was inspired by the streets of the Gracia neighborhood in Barcelona. These streets are filled with life and art. So I made it my life’s mission to find art in the red walls and doors of Gracia.
I found this week’s challenge really challenging (redundant). But not because it was hard finding red and artsy walls and doors. Which it was. But more because I went with my 50mm lens. And the streets are way too narrow. So I couldn’t get far back enough to get the entire walls sometimes. This only emphasized my wish to get a 35mm lens once and for all.
It’s amazing how much we missed by rushing through life at the hectic pace we are now used to. Because I was forced to look for something specific in the streets. It was amazing how many knew things I found in a neighborhood I thought I knew well. There are details and secrets in every corner.
I have to say I really enjoyed this 52-Week Photo Challenge: Week 3, and I hope you do too!
