52-Week Photo Challenge: Week 7 | Portrait: Faceless
“WEEK 7: Portrait: Faceless: Tell someone’s story without showing their face.”
I just wanted to start this week’s 52-Week Photo Challenge: Week 7 by saying that first: it’s by far the most difficult one yet. And second; I’ve been doing this challenge wrong on purpose.
And what I mean by this is that this challenge is meant for making that ONE photo that represents what the challenge is about that week. And I upload many, not just one. But I do that because I feel short by just uploading one. I don’t want to limit myself creatively. So if one week I just make 1 photo work, then I only upload that one. If I like 50, then 50. (Hard, but it’s a hypothetical).
My first DSLR as I stated in another blog post where I talk about my gear; was a Nikon. Then I moved to Fuji and then I landed with Canon (and I’m planning on staying because I’m loving it).
Talking strictly about my Canon gear. I used to have only one lens; Canon’s 50mm 1.4.
Nowadays it’s a different story because I have the best boyfriend in the world. And after hearing me complaining non-stop that my 50mm 1.4 was too tight for certain situations and that I really needed a 35mm. He gave me for my 25th birthday back in August; a Sigma 35mm 1.4 ART lens. He’s a keeper, I KNOW!
52-Week Photo Challenge: Week 6 | Artistic: Candy
“WEEK 6: Artistic: Candy: Your artistic interpretation this week should be inspired by something sweet. Therefore, a great chance to play with macro photography.”
So problem number 1: I don’t have a macro lens. And my 50mm will definitely not focus near enough. So let’s just keep this week’s 52-Week Photo Challenge: Week 6 to artistic and candy and sweet.
Since I don’t have a macro lens to play with, and the main subject is artistic. I didn’t want to take random pictures of something sweet. And it was really hard coming up with an artistic approach to it. Furthermore, in all of the Artistic section of this challenge, you can take the theme literally or figuratively. And I chose the later.
So here is my “artistic” take on candy = the summer skies. Which by the colors and the clouds look like cotton candy!
I wanted to share my week in photos from when I went to Berlin at the beginning of July. Two months already?! I was selected as a finalist in a Fashion Awards. So I went there with my boyfriend and took some extra days off to play the tourists. He had already been to Berlin, but I didn’t, so we had to take the opportunity.
This post is coming a little bit late. But that’s just because I’ve created enough content ahead and just until now I had a free spot to put this one.
Also, this is going to be a little bit different than my usual posts because I wanted to tell the story entirely with photos instead of text. But I added some notes here and there to put you in the correct context.
This style of post is inspired by Lizzy Hadfield from Shot From The Street. Please let me know in the comments if you like this kind of posts because I enjoyed greatly doing it!
