Blogmas Day 15 | Christmas Markets in Barcelona

Christmas MarketsHello, you lot! This is Blogmas Day 15. And today I’m sharing my favorite Christmas Markets in Barcelona.

I’m so excited because I’m managing very well with this daily content thing. I’m very optimistic that I will manage very well too with the extra upload day I’m adding to my schedule (as I mentioned in Blogmas Day 12 – A Few Steps In A New Direction).

Anyway, back to topic! And a big disclaimer. Keep in mind the name of these fairs and markets are in Catalan. So I will be putting the English translation next to them. But if you are coming to Barcelona for Christmas. Write down the real names so people know what you’re talking about, basically.

CHRISTMAS MARKETS IN BARCELONA

  • FIRA DE SANTA LLÚCIA (FAIR OF SANTA LUCIA)

This one is one of the few I’ve actually been too. And probably one of Barcelona’s most famous Christmas Markets.

How to get there:

Carrer dels Lledó, 11, 2
08002 Barcelona, Spain

Metro: Jaume 1 (Yellow Line, L4)

Bus: 45, 120, V15, V17

  • FIRA DE NADAL A LA SAGRADA FAMÍLIA (CHRISTMAS FAIR AT SAGRADA FAMÍLIA)

This market/fair takes place just outside the Sagrada Familia (You know, that famous unfinished church by Gaudí?)

How to get there:

Plaza de la Sagrada Familia, 1
08013 Barcelona, Spain

Metro: Sagrada Familia (Blue Line, L5 – Purple Line, L2)

Bus: 19, 33, 34, 50, 51, H10

  • MERCAT DE NADAL DE PEDRALBES (PEDRALBES CHRISTMAS MARKET)

This I think it’s just a 1-day-market. Just outside Pedralbes Monastery, where you can enjoy a guided visit after.

How to get there:

Baixada del Monestir, 9
08034 Barcelona, Spain

Metro: Maria Cristina (Green Line, L3) Palau Reial (Green Line, L3)

Bus: H4, V5, 63, 75, 78

  • PLAÇA DE CATALUNYA FIRA DE NADAL (CHRISTMAS FAIR AT PLAÇA DE CATALUNYA)

This Christmas Market takes place at the heart of Barcelona, at Plaça de Catalunya.

How to get there:

Plaça de Catalunya

Metro: Catalunya (Green Line, L3) Catalunya (Red Line, L1)

Bus: 14, 24, 41, 42, 55, 58, 59, 67, 68, 91, H16, V15

  • FIRA DE REIS (KING’S DAY FAIR)

I think this is one of Barcelona’s biggest and most important markets, especially for buying toys. This market takes place only in a section of Gran Vía Street. Exactly between Muntaner and Calabria.

How to get there:

Carrer Gran Vía

Metro: Rocafort (Red Line, L1) Urgell (Red Line, L1) Universitat (Red Line, L1)

I also wanted to add that I haven’t personally been to all of these. And that probably there are more. I’m just sharing the ones I’ve been to, and the ones I know about.

Hope this little Christmas Market Guide helped you a little if you’re coming to my beautiful Barcelona for Christmas. And if not, then maybe bookmark this post for the future?
