I’m going to talk about my photography gear and evolution of it. As well as my wishlist for the future. But more importantly, I wanted to introduce a kind of -photography series- with future blog posts.
Nowadays with the advances in technology, we can get hold of a relatively good camera by just buying a smartphone. So everyone now can take quality images and believe they are a photographer.
I think photography goes much deeper than just holding a camera, pointing and shooting.
So in this new series called Photography Tips Series, my intention is to teach you the basics regarding photography so that you realize that just the basics are much complicated than to point and shoot. And hopefully, teach you and encourage you to make better photos.
And to respect the work of other photographers now knowing the skills, time and effort needed to achieve good photos.
There are a lot of things to consider before pursuing a degree in fashion. People often think that studying fashion will only teach you how to dress better and look amazing. Or that you will only make dresses for events and all things glamorous.
That couldn’t be farther from the truth.
A Degree in Fashion is everything but simple. You have to put in a lot of work, a lot of time, little sleep, and a whole lot of creativity. Because you are going to be making clothes, yes, but as an art expression. You have to deliver a message, you have to tell a story. You may have to cover some functional necessities. And most of all you have to keep in mind that you will be working with the human body as the main tool. And all of these things tend to be rawer and makes you connect in a whole different and deeper level than just plain luxury.
Also, remember that fashion as we know it has not always been like that. In the beginning, clothes had functional needs to cover. For example; the weather. People were cold so they needed something to cover themselves up with so they weren’t cold anymore. So it wasn’t always a superficial thing like we now tend to see it.
Fashion has a very important roll in our social lives, deeper than most of us realize. But you will learn this better when you study art history and the real social history behind fashion.
Oh yes girl, you read that right. You are going to have to study history. There are even maths in fashion. So no, it’s not all fun and games like people often believe.
So I’m going to give you 4 things to consider before pursuing a degree in fashion, so you know what to expect.
4 Reasons I Almost Didn’t Start a Blog
I bet all of you are right now like… Are you serious? YES, I’m serious.
This is important, you know? We wouldn’t be here at all If I didn’t overcome the 4 reasons I’m about to elaborate. (And by -we- I mean my mom, my sister and my boyfriend, because nobody else reads my blog yet).
1. Nobody Would Be Interested. Not Even Myself
I don’t have a really elaborated and detailed plan about how this blog is going to be. So that means I don’t really have a neat structure about the topics I would be writing about. And the things I do know I want to share, are pretty personal. And I don’t see what about my life would attract anyone enough to stick around.
But I find that the blogs I enjoy the most, whether they are about travel, fashion, photography, lifestyle, you name it; are the ones I can relate in some way to what the blogger is writing about.
Start a blog. That has been in my mind for far too long.
So I’ve finally decided to start a blog. And I want this space to be my creative outlet and a marketing tool for me to be able to reach more people.
I’ve always wanted a life where no one would have the right to tell me what to do, how to do it, and when to do it. (Don’t we all?)
It’s not an authority issue whatsoever, its just my independent inner-self dreaming to be just that, independent.
I’ve also wanted a way to express and share everything and anything that inspires me. Whether it was what I’m doing, what I’m wearing, what I’m shooting (with a camera, of course), what I’m eating, etc.
I just wanted to throw it out there and share it with everyone. And to start a blog was the way to go.
