This trip to Cancun has been a very productive one! I thought I would come to spend quality time with my family and produce a lot of Lifestyle content. And I ended up having a lot of material to create Photography content instead.
My sister was approached by one of her clients at PYME Marketing to create a website for her jewelry store. And also asked if she knew a photographer that could take the photos for her online catalog, and she recommended her sister, yours truly.
Problem is, we needed a studio with studio lights to create the photos she wanted, and we didn’t have the necessary equipment to fulfill the job. So we offered to create a styled photoshoot on a budget, so she may use the photos on her social media pages.
As soon as I have those images I will shared them either on another post, or on my photo portfolio. But I wanted to create this post sharing with you the simple props that we will be using for the style photoshoot on a budget. My point being, you don’t need to spend tremendous amount of money to create beautiful backdrops and creative photographs.
As I mentioned this particular brand we are working with, is a jewelry brand. So these test shots were made with my sisters ring and some props. These tests shots were taken with my dad’s camera and one of his lenses since I didn’t have all the equipment needed here.

STYLED PHOTOSHOOT ON A BUDGET | PROPS
The client told us that the main colors of her brand were navy, white/beige and gold. So we searched for inexpensive props having those colors in mind. She also told us that her brand has a very varied target, and that the look she was going for is a very classy and elegant look.
So the low-budget material we got for the styled photoshoot is:
- White piece of fabric (random cloth)
- Navy piece of fabric (one of my dresses)
- Beige ribbon
- Beige and navy cardboards
- Wooden cube
- White foams as reflectors
- White and golden marble paper holder pad
