Who am I kidding?
I don’t have a summer routine, I use the same stuff all year round. But maybe the tones do vary.
Anyway, today I am going to share with you all the products and the process of my very natural everyday makeup.
After all my “medical” routine is done I then start to prepare my face for makeup. I use Becca First Light Priming Filter as a primer, of course.
Looooove this primer because it neutralizes my skin and leaves it with a beautiful glow. I love glowing skin, it’s so fresh and healthy!
Then I apply my foundation which I have two favorites; it depends on how well my skin is doing that day if I need a little bit more coverage, and it also depends on how dry my skin is.
For a lighter coverage, I use NARS Tinted Moisturizer in the shade Alaska. If I need a little bit more coverage I use NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation in the shade Fiji.
The first one, of course, is very light because it’s not exactly a foundation, it is a tinted moisturizer. But the second one isn’t exactly heavy either. It has a very natural finish and I would say a light to medium coverage. Depends on what you apply it.
I apply my tinted moisturizer with my fingers or a brush. And I apply my foundations with a beauty blender.
Then its time for concealer. And I do love a high coverage concealer because I have very dark undereye areas and also my eyelids are very veiny and dark.
There are even times when I’m not wearing any eye makeup except mascara, and people compliment me on my eyeshadow… It’s just the natural darkness of my eyelids.
My high coverage concealer of choice is the Urban Decay All Nighter concealer in the shade Light Warm. I don’t think this concealer really need to be set because I find it a little drying actually. But I set it anyway, especially in summer, when things can get sweaty.
For setting powder, I use Kat Von D Lock-It Blotting Powder in the shade Light.
I never set my entire face, I always set my under eyes and everywhere where I put concealer on. But with this powder, I love to set my cheeks too because this powder magically disappears my pores. And since it is a blotting powder its perfect for touch-ups during the day.
Then I do my brows. I have natural bushy and thick eyebrows so I don’t do much to them. I basically cover any baldness I may have. But the only important step is to tame the hairs down because my eyebrows are messy.
For this, I use NYX Tinted Brow Mascara in Brunette.
Then I go ahead and bronze the **** out of my face. I have two favorites and I usually find myself mixing them both.
The Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer and Benefit Hoola Bronzer.
I love these bronzers because they don’t have a very warm undertone, but they don’t look like ash either. It’s the perfect balance for my skin tone.
I don’t usually use blush. I have rosacea so I usually run away from anything that would make my face any redder.
But when my skin is behaving okay, and I feel the need to use blush, I tend to go towards the peachy tones instead of the pinks. My favorite is Sephora Colorful Blush in the shade Shame on You! N.01
For the eyes, I usually only put my favorite mascara; Too Faced Better Than Sex. But when I feel a little dull, or I want to feel a more put together I put on some eyeshadow.
My go-to palettes are the Too Faced Chocolate Bar which is amazing and it actually smells like chocolate!! And the Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 palette.
It sounds like a lot of products but they actually fit in a very small makeup bag. And I don’t take longer than 10 minutes to get ready so it is not much at all.
Also, I would like to take a moment to express my despair of not being able to get a hold of any Glossier makeup.
I am dying to try them out, especially because their makeup philosophy is the same as mine! Natural, not-wearing-makeup-makeup, and dewy skin!
So Glossier, you need to start shipping worldwide, for real.
I made a fast motion video for you, so you can see for yourself more or less this routine in action! I was terrified to do this, but oh well!
